New York City is a phenomenal beast. It will curse you, kick you, bless you and raise you up all in the same breath. What matters here, on the concrete streets doesn’t have much weight outside of them.
Here, you can rub shoulders with poets, paupers, kings, friends and enemies and you will not even know their names. Here, one drop in an endless sea makes no difference to the stream until it does. Here, we are shuttled along like trains on tracks until we shake the fog enough to emerge into the light. Here, we do not choose what we want, it is chosen for us. Here, we are who we are until someone tells us differently. Here, we know no different until its been forced upon us.
